House & Garden

The House and Garden Committee is responsible for:

~Oversight of the landscape of the neighborhood and the landscape contractor, currently, Greenscapes Inc.,

~Reviewing and making recommendations to the board on proposed changes to the exteriors of homes in the neighborhood.

~Committee will do a monthly Walk-Through the 2nd Tues. with Greenscapes and a representative from Cambridge Management.  In the summer, the Walk-Through will be every other month.  Resident concerns about landscaping on their property will be addressed.

GREENSCAPES is responsible for landscape maintenance such as grass cutting, trimming of bushes and trees, pest and fertilizer applications and the sprinkler system.

REPLACEMENT of all trees, plants and shrubbery around each home is the responsibiity of the homeowner.  Any replacement must be done within the ARC Guidelines.  Greenscapes will provide free estimates for plant replacement and will warrant their work for one year.

For problems call Greenscapes at (239) 643-4471.  After hours which is weekends or after 4 on weekdays,  call Cambridge Property Management at (239) 249-7000. If still unsatisfied, call Betsy Marshall at 847-224-9503.

Irrigation

For problems call Greenscapes at (239) 643-4471 during regular business hours from 8-4 weekdays.   If you have irrigation problems after hours which is after 4 p.m. weekdays and week ends call  the committee members below.  Only they may report a problem.

Betsy Marshall, NVR (847) 224-9503

Patti DeWolfe, Treasurer (978) 314-9205

Terese Helberg, Secretary (651) 214-6722

Please try NOT to call Greenscapes at all after hours because if they show up, it will cost $125 and we will all share in the cost.  Speak to any of the above or Cambridge Management at 239-249-7000 first, since main irrigation water may be easily shutoff locally.

If you are comfortable doing so, you may try to follow the troubleshooting procedures.

1) Check irrigation controller box on side of house. Never adjust spinkler timing.  Move to OFF position.  Wait 1-2 minutes.  If water does not shut off see next step.

2) Go to the lavender colored rectangular irrigation box on front lawn.  Take lid off and find valve shutoff (debris gathers over time and may need to be cleaned off first).  With a pair of pliers, turn valve to OFF position.  If this does not work see step 3.

3) Call Cambridge Management.

Please note that afterhours visits by Greenscapes costs $125 which is paid for by the Gleneagles HOA.  We should strive to avoid these charges if possible.

THE HOMEOWNER IS RESPONSIBLE for the replacement of the irrigation timer.

GREENSCAPES IS RESPONSIBLE for the replacement of sprinkler heads, small irrigation lines, solenoids, valves, timer setting and monthly wet check.

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT ADJUST THE TIMER SETTING AS THERE IS A SPECIFIC PROGRAM FOR WATERING.

IRRIGATION TIMERS are as follows:

DRY SEASON - Three days per week (if our pond supply allows)

WET SEASON - Even numbered houses twice a week Thurs and Sunday, odd numbered houses Wed. & Saturday.

Watering should never last longer than one hour.
